According to FOX Sports reporter Bob Pockrass, NASCAR Cup Series teams will also prepare for the weekend with scheduled practice groups and qualifying order set as the garage begins building toward Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 500.
The multi-series “Desert Double” weekend brings IndyCar, the O’Reilly Series and the NASCAR Cup Series together at Phoenix, setting the stage for one of the busiest racing weekends of the season in the Arizona desert.
In short: engines fire early, cars stay busy all day, and Phoenix is officially in race mode.
