Greg Biffle’s estate is being sued for a total of $30 million in the wake of his death.
Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two children, Emma (14) and Ryder (5), died in a plane crash on December 18.
The private aircraft went down on a runway at North Carolina’s Statesville Regional Airport. It also killed pilot Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and friend Craig Wadworth.
According to the Daily Mail, Dennis and Jack’s estates have filed two wrongful death lawsuits in Iredell County, North Carolina.
The suit alleges that Biffle was responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the private jet, which makes him liable for the deaths.
The estates are suing for $15 million each.
Over the past week, it’s also been revealed that a burglar stole $30,000 in cash just days after the crash. They also made off with a pair of handguns, NASCAR memorabilia and a backpack from the late driver’s Mooresville mansion.
The authorities suspect an inside job, as the hooded figure seemed to know the house’s layout and the location of the cameras.
Search warrants also show that, just hours after the crash, someone accessed the Biffle family’s bank accounts.
An email was also sent to Biffle reading, “I heard you’re dead, rest in hell.”
Investigators believe that the burglary on January 7 was a smokescreen hiding a wider plot to wipe out the family’s accounts.
