Hendrick Motorsports Makes Chase Elliott Announcement Before All-Star Race

There's no way to sugarcoat it, the 2025 NASCAR season has been a disappointment for former Cup Series champion Chase Elliott.

Elliott hasn't recorded a win yet for Hendrick Motorsports this season. He had a legitimate chance to claim first place last weekend at Kansas Speedway, but a brutal turn of events left him outside of the top 10 when the dust settled.

Despite coming up short at Kansas, the No. 9 team received love from Hendrick Motorsports vice president of competition Chad Knaus.

"It’s unfortunate that issue happened today because I think we’d be sitting here with them easily in the top five with the pace that they had. But it only takes one hiccup and it can derail your day," Knaus said. "So we’ve got to keep working on those things. But as long as they continue to bring good race cars and fast race cars and execute at a high level, they’re going to be where we need them."

With the NASCAR All-Star Race set for this weekend, Hendrick Motorsports has made a change to Elliott's team. Whether or not it'll lead to better results is a bit unclear though.

Hendrick Motorsports announced that Chase Elliott and Justin Haley swapped rear tire changers for Sunday's race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

That means Calvin Teague will help out Elliott and the No. 9 team while Chad Avrit joins forces with Haley and the No. 7 team.

Elliott would love to build some positive momentum at the All-Star Race, but his main priority is winning the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25.

Maybe, just maybe, getting a new rear tire changer is exactly what Elliott needed.
