Jon Wood posts iconic message from press conference on Wood Brothers social media after Josh Berry’s Las Vegas win

From the comfort of the media center, basking in the win by Josh Berry, Jon Wood went on social media and let loose. Wood Brothers Racing won today at Las Vegas, not on a fluke, but with a badass car and NASCAR driver.

Does this mean Josh Berry will win multiple times this season? Too early to say. What it does mean is that no matter what this season, the 21 car is going to the playoffs.

With the win washing over them, the Wood Brothers owners were ecstatic. Jon Wood runs the social media page himself on X/Twitter. This is what he had to say:

“Sorry for the lack of posts and stuff. We joke about the admin stuff but we legit don’t have admin,” Wood posted. “I’m sitting beside Josh in the media center typing this. And [Bob Pockrass] won’t look up but it’s because he knows he f-ed up and didn’t pick us as longshot but we’ll let that slide.”

All in good fun, but Wood is showing that this team has a bit of a chip on its shoulder. It should. They are a quality organization that can go playoff racing regularly. Right now, it appears with Josh Berry they can do just that.

If this had been another superspeedway win like Harrison Burton last year at Daytona, that’s one thing. This is the first time since Ryan Blaney in 2017 that this organization has won on an intermediate oval.

This was a statement win. It was telling everyone that this team is legitimate and should be on everybody’s radar.

Dale Jr. proud of Josh Berry after Las Vegas win

If it wasn’t for Dale Earnhardt Jr., Josh Berry wouldn’t be celebrating in victory lane right now. At least not in the NASCAR Cup Series. Berry would surely still be winning, but he would be racing the short tracks of Tennessee and North Carolina instead.

Thankfully, Dale Jr. saw the talent in Josh Berry years ago. He gave the Tennessee driver a chance. It has only paid off since then.

From winning races in the Xfinity Series to replacing Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman for Hendrick Motorsports to racing for a soon-to-be out-of-business Stewart-Haas and finally, winning for Wood Brothers Racing. That is Berry’s path to today.

With the win, Earnhardt had to post something online. He had a perfect reaction to the win with this classic scene from Rudy. Way to go, Josh Berry, you’ve finally made it.
