Kaden Honeycutt didn't win Friday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover Motor Speedway, but a resilient fourth-place effort may have solidified him as the series title favorite anyway.
A pit road speeding penalty just before the end of the race's first stage sent Honeycutt to the back of the pack and nixed any chance of points in Stage 1. But Honeycutt, who earned his first career win last week at Watkins Glen, mounted a comeback and eventually finished fourth.
Honeycutt extended his advantage to 38 points over second-place Layne Riggs with eight races remaining in the regular season. He's the only driver in the field with six top fives and seven top 10s through the first nine races of 2026.
"Still a good day," Honeycutt said, per Matt Weaver of Motorsport.com. "We bounced back to a top five. It's a good fight back. I really thought we had a good truck to contend for the win with Kyle. Just gonna go back and make sure [a speeding penalty] doesn't happen again."

Even without a win on Friday, Honeycutt is one of only three series regular — Chandler Smith and Riggs are the other two — to go to Victory Lane in 2026.
Honeycutt will likely be one of the favorites to win at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 22 in the 10th race of the 2026 Truck Series season. He has finishes of seventh and third in his two races at the 1.5-mile oval and led 10 laps a season ago.
