The NASCAR Cup Series is headed to The Lone Star State, where Texas Motor Speedway will be the host of this weekend’s Wurth 400. Ahead of all the action, Kevin Harvick and his Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour crew are locking in their predictions for who will stand above the field as the winner.
First, Harvick revealed he’s rocking with Tyler Reddick to get the win: “I’m going to pick Tyler Reddick. I think that Reddick has been good at this particular race track, and I think he and Bubba Wallace both run really good at this race track,” the former Cup Series champion predicted.
While Reddick was victorious during last spring’s trip to Talladega, he couldn’t get to Victory Lane this past weekend, finishing P14. Now, Texas will represent a chance for Reddick to get a win once again. He finished second during his first race at the track in the Cup Series back in 2020, and he won there in 2022. He’ll be a force once again, and Harvick believes in him.
As for Harvick’s partners, Kaitlyn Vince is a believer in Kyle Larson: “I’m going with Kyle Larson. He has some momentum on his side, coming off the performance at Talladega, and he was the winner there in 2021,” Vincie added. “Driver No. 5 for me.”
Larson continued his impressive season with a podium finish at Talladega. While superspeedway racing doesn’t always come easily to him, a runner-up performance in Alabama is more than acceptable. Now, this week’s trip to Texas will be Larson’s 20th time racing at the track in the Cup Series.
He’s won there twice, but it’s been a while. The last time he went to Victory Lane in Texas was October of 2021, which VIncie alluded to.
Finally, Mamba Smith had his pick stolen from him by Harvick, as he was going to rock with Reddick. Instead, he chose one of the other 23XI Racing wheelmen, believing Bubba Wallace ends his winless skid and gets to Victory Lane.
“I was going to pick Tyler Reddick. I mentioned him earlier in the show. I’m not going to pick him [now]. That’s not how this works. You know what? Give me my dog, Bubba Wallace. It’s redemption time at Texas,” Smith stated. “I think they feel like they let one slip last year. So, go get yourself one big dog.”
Wallace getting to Victory Lane would certainly be a sizable development. He’s performed well at Texas in the past, coming close to getting a win, but he’s come up short. Smith believes he’ll rise above and finally get it done this time around.
Time will tell if any of the Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour crew are right in their assessment. Tyler Reddick, Kyle Larson and Bubba Wallace will all be strong picks, and any one of those three wheelmen could get the job done at Texas on Sunday afternoon.
