Kevin Harvick ponders Corey Heim replacing Brad Keselowski in RFK No. 6 car
Stephanie Amador / USA TODAY NETWORK

Kevin Harvick threw out an idea that would shake up the NASCAR Cup Series in an interesting way during the latest episode of his Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour show. He’s pondering whether Brad Keselowski could retire from full-time driving and lure Corey Heim away from Toyota to drive the No. 6 Ford in 2026.

The Truck Series star is arguably the brightest prospect in all of the sport. However, there’s no clear path for him to the Cup Series, with Toyota’s teams seemingly not having an opening for him anytime soon.

That could lead to Ford or Chevrolet trying to pry him away. Harvick believes that if Keselowski is thinking about slowing down, the No. 6 at RFK Racing could be the move for Heim as soon as next season.

“I don’t know if they’re ever going to be back in a position where they’re going to win multiple races with that car. It’s going to be very difficult to do,” Harvick stated, regarding Keselowski in the No. 6. “The transition with the new car, the new driving style, the new racing style and everything that comes with that. I don’t know.

“I think, if you could go get Corey Heim and put him in there? It’s a good conversation. Not a bad conversation. I think it’d be hard to get him out of the Toyota camp, but there’s nowhere for him to go.”

Losing Heim would be a big blow to Toyota, and a huge gain for RFK Racing and Ford as a whole. However, Keselowski retiring from full-time driving without any prior announcement would be a bit of a shock. At the end of the day, he’s still a former champion who’s shown some more speed as of late in 2025.

He came close to winning in Atlanta, after a miserable start to the season. Additionally, he was among NASCAR’s more consistent wheelmen in 2024, notching a dub at Darlington Raceway.

As far as where he stands at the moment, Keselowski likely won’t make the playoffs on points, so he’ll need to win his way into the Top 16. It’s not out of the realm of possibility, as he’s still fast at NASCAR’s more traditional tracks, but road courses certainly aren’t his specialty.

What the future holds for Brad Keselowski and Corey Heim remains to be seen. It would certainly be an interesting development, and Kevin Harvick could get behind the young wheelman replacing the former champion in the No. 6, but it seems a bit far fetched right now.
