Kyle Busch Makes 'Snakebitten' Admission over Poor 2025 Streak

Kyle Busch is having a nightmare of a campaign in NASCAR. The RCR veteran is nowhere near his prime this season, with yet another winless streak. His last victory came all the way back in June 2023. As the Playoffs begin this weekend, Busch has admitted that things have not been on his side this year.

The RCR veteran will not be part of the Playoffs for only the second time in his Cup Series career. The former Cup champion is currently on a 83-race winless run, something that doesn’t seem to come to an end anytime soon. On the other hand, Busch’s much less experienced teammate, Austin Dillon will be competing in the Top 16 shootout.

After Qualifying in Darlington, Kyle Busch made it clear that RCR was not expecting miracles this weekend at least for the No. 8 car.

Ain’t no telling, hard to tell with practice and everything and different groups and speeds and things like that, hard to say.

Kyle Busch said post-qualifying.

Moreover, Busch was asked about his positive comments for RCR after the Daytona weekend, where he had another unfortunate result. The NASCAR veteran admitted that it was sheer bad luck to crash out within the first 30 laps, when he needed a win to secure a spot in the Playoffs. Kyle Busch pointed out that Richard Childress Racing has provided him with some quick cars at superspeedways like Daytona and Talladega. Yet, luck simply hasn’t been on the side of the No. 8 garage this season. So much so, he claimed that he had been snakebit when it comes to race results.

Yeah, I mean to get crashed in the first 30 laps of the race, no one of our faults certainly hurt our day and the effort and everything else. But we’ve had good fast race cars at Daytona, Talladega, Atlanta like that. And we’ve had some good luck of missing some crashes and we’ve been up front late in goings in order to have shots at wins. And this year we’ve been snake bit.

Kyle Busch explained.

Kyle Busch gives advice to Austin Dillon for NASCAR Playoffs

RCR won’t have its star driver in the business end of the tournament this season. Nevertheless, Austin Dillon’s No. 3 Chevrolet will be the torch bearer for the Chevy team. Dillion secured a spot for the Playoffs after a redemption victory at Richmond Raceway just a couple of weeks ago.

Kyle Busch was asked to give a few words of advice to his teammate. The RCR veteran insisted that Dillon must try and maximize his potential in the ten rounds, and get the best result possible. He pointed out that his teammate will be on the backfoot compared to the front runners in terms of points scaling. Nevertheless, Busch urged Austin Dillon to try and push himself to the limit with some clever strategies.

I think that it’s, you got to reach your potential each week, whatever that potential may be. There’s ways of being able to point your way in. Obviously, he’s a little deeper in the point scaling. So that’s a little bit of a hindrance on their set where, we always kind of had a little bit of a head start with that as the 18 car. But yeah, I mean, just trying to maximize your opportunities. If you feel like you’ve got a shot to win, you’ve got to go for the win and maybe strategize your race that way. But if you don’t, then you’ve got to strategize your way for picking up stage points.

Kyle Busch added.

Certainly, Kyle Busch is disappointed to miss out on the Playoffs this season. Couple this with his massive winless streak, and questions will be raced within the field. Critics argue that the RCR veteran is past his prime, and is doing nothing more than just making up the numbers on the grid. However, Busch has shown glimpses of his former self in the past, but just not enough to make it to Victory Lane.
