Kyle Busch Sends Strong Message to Kyle Larson After Another Scary Crash at Indianapolis

Kyle Larson will start 21st next week in the 2025 Indianapolis 500, his second year competing in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” But it’s not come without a couple of crashes in the No. 17 Arrow McLaren on the 2.5-mile speedway.

The first came several weeks ago in a test session. Then, on Friday, the 32-year-old crashed again. Fortunately, for the Hendrick Motorsports driver, in both incidents he made hard impacts with the wall but didn’t get airborne. His fellow Indy 500 competitors haven’t been so lucky.

Later in the day on Friday, Kyffin Simpson backed it into the wall and immediately got airborne but never completely flipped. Little did anyone know, it was the first of several frightening incidents for the weekend.

On Saturday, it was Colton Herta who slammed into the fence before his car lifted off the ground and landed upside down, sliding down the track against the wall before coming to rest.

And then again on Sunday, Scott McLaughlin lost control of his car, which violently crashed into the fence, got into the air but eventually landed on the four wheels — although one of them was missing.

Moments after McLaughlin’s incident, Kyle Busch, who just this past week told Denny Hamlin on his "Actions Detrimental" podcast about Joe Gibbs shutting down his attempt at running in the prestigious race years ago when he was still with the team, took to X and shared his thoughts.

“This year Indycar qualifying… NO THANKS!!” Busch wrote. “All you @KyleLarsonRacin stay safe boys!”

Before Larson races in the Indy 500, he'll be competing against Busch on Sunday in the All-Star Race from North Wilkesboro Speedway. Race coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.
