Once again, Kyle and Brexton Busch will face off against each other on the dirt. This time, it will be at the 2026 Tulsa Shootout. Brexton won himself a Golden Driller last year in the Junior Sprints. Now, he’s moved up, and that’s allowed him to enter a division against his dad.

Kyle Busch has learned dirt racing in the last few years. As Brexton continues to develop, Dad has to have fun, too. The father-son duo can be spotted at any number of dirt tracks, particularly Millbridge, during the NASCAR season. Of course, they have to take on Tulsa again.

For Rowdy, it’s going to be a busy week in Tulsa. He will race the Winged A, Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, and Stock Non-Wing divisions. Brexton is going to face his dad in the Winged A division on top of racing Restricted Class A.

No word on whether Kyle Larson is going to race in the Tulsa Shootout. He is entered for the Chili Bowl Nationals. Larson’s kids, Owen and Audrey, are entered in multiple events. It’s a family affair in Tulsa.

It is clear that Kyle Busch hasn’t had the best luck lately while racing. He even had a rather poor outing in the Snowball Derby. I don’t think fans are going to complain about Rowdy racing more. We can honestly thank fatherhood and his kids for that. As Brexton rises in the ranks, we’re likely going to see more of Kyle racing outside of NASCAR as well.

Kyle Busch racing in Tulsa Shootout

Now that we know Kyle Busch is racing the Tulsa Shootout, it begs the question – will he race in the Chili Bowl Nationals? There are already a handful of NASCAR names entered. A few usual suspects and even a debut for one O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver.

Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell are on the entry list already. Those two have a combined six wins in the Chili Bowl. Larson is the defending champion and just closed out his second Cup Series championship. Joining them are Ty Gibbs, Corey Day, and even Sheldon Creed.

Creed got into micros and sprint cars earlier this year. Now, he’s taking on the Chili Bowl. That is a bold way to make your debut in one of the biggest events of the year. Gibbs has been improving in these dirt races lately. As for Larson, Bell, and Day, well, they are all among the favorites to win the event.

Kyle Busch is going to get his 2026 season started on the dirt again. Is there a chance we see Brexton advance over his dad in the Winged A division?
