Kyle Petty asks Joey Logano to ‘stop complaining’ about the LA clash incident with Ty Gibbs
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano re-ignited his feud with 21-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs at LAClash at the Colosseum. The duo was exchanging blows the whole day, and with just ten laps left in use, the No:54 Toyota Camry used Logano up and sent him to the wall, ruining both driver’s races in the process.

Denny Hamlin, who was racing behind the duo, took advantage of the incident to take the lead and eventually the win. Logano was furious with Gibbs over the incident, and after the race, he confronted the JGR racer. at the front No:54 Houler. They exchanged some words and went their separate ways without sorting out the beef that started after an incident last season at Martinsville.

Ex-NASCAR star and race analyst Kyle Petty has expressed his view on the incident and pointed out that what Gibbs has done to Logano in LA is the same thing the Team Penske Racing No:22 Ford Mustang driver has done with many over the years. He added that the fact that Logano has employed similar tactics in the past means he shouldn’t be complaining about it.

We saw Ty move Joey up. Did we ever see Joey moving anybody up? Yeah, I think we have. So if you do it, you can't complain about it. I'm sorry, you can't complain about it. Old-school drivers would do it to each other and never complain about it. Petty said via NASCAR’s YouTube Channel.

Kyle Petty claims what Ty Gibbs did wasn’t wrong

Petty went on to criticize the attitude of current racers towards such incidents. He pointed out that, unlike in the past, the current drivers whine about such incidents on social media to claim the other person wronged him. Petty added that Ty Gibbs didn’t do anything wrong at LA.

These guys do it to each other and whine about it, tweet about it, put it up on Instagram, and put it up on TikTok. The world has to know somebody did something wrong to me. It wasn't wrong, what Ty Gibbs did.

The rivalry between the young Gibbs and veteran Logano is similar to what the latter had in his young days with his senior racers. Gibbs is arguably the new version of the young Logano, who, like his rival, has an unpolemically aggressive driving style. The fans are in for an intriguing storyline if the battle continues.
