Everyone is watching in the garage and on pit road. Matt Crafton was penalized during the red flag for rain at Las Vegas. The NASCAR Truck Series race was put on hold for a random rain shower and Crafton’s team might have done something wrong.
Matt Crafton was sent to the rear of the field to start Stage 2 when the rain let up. NASCAR sent his team a photo, a “grainy” one according to Crafton’s team radio, and said someone was reaching in the hood.
NASCAR took that as an unapproved adjustment. So, Crafton has more work to do this stage.

Matt Crafton can be upset all he wants. It appears that his team was caught red-handed. There was even a video shown on the FS1 broadcast. The team got caught. This race is long enough to where that didn’t matter much.
Crafton has been able to easily move himself back up through the field. This race is going to come down to a final green flag run. Leaders will hope they don’t see a caution with a few laps remaining.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has had a caution thrown at the end of Stage 1. Mother Nature sent rain to the desert. There wasn’t supposed to be rain tonight but it found a way. This sport could make it rain anywhere on the planet.
The Las Vegas Truck Series race is under caution. Ty Majeski took the lead right before the rain came down. Tyler Ankrum led early in the first stage. Corey Day is holding in there after starting on the pole.
NASCAR is not going to burn laps running around between stages. That is a good thing. This Truck Series race is not very long, only 200 miles. So, getting as many of those laps under green is important.
This appears to be a pop-up shower. Let’s hope that it is just that. We need this race to get back to green and see who is going to take home the third win of the Truck Series season.
Corey Day has a lot on his plate this evening. He is racing for Spire Motorsports in the No. 7 truck, a truck that won at Atlanta. Kyle Larson is also watching closely at the track on pit road. Rajah Caruth and Day have support from HendrickCars.com the same as Larson in the Cup Series.
So, Matt Crafton’s team got caught during the rain delay. Things have continued to be shaky with the weather. During this race we have had multiple cautions for rain.
