Friday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway was supposed to kick off a tripleheader NASCAR weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans.
The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 was postponed due to rain on Friday, moving the start of the race to 8 a.m. ET Saturday.
Practice and qualifying for the race were also rained out, with the starting lineup set by the rulebook.
However, inclement weather could also strike at Charlotte Motor Speedway throughout Saturday. AccuWeather calls for a 99 percent chance of rain on Saturday with thunderstorms also possible. That could delay the Truck Series race even more and also affect the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Cup Series.
O'Reilly Series practice is slated to begin at 11 a.m. ET Saturday with qualifying at 12:05 p.m. ET. NASCAR Cup Series practice is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET, with qualifying set for 2:40 p.m. ET.
The postponement of the Truck Series race could make for a Saturday doubleheader, as the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race is scheduled to go green at 5 p.m. ET Saturday. However, inclement weather could push those races back as far as Monday, with Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 for the NASCAR Cup Series set to take place under much more favorable weather conditions.
