NASCAR Driver Kyle Larson Makes Embarrassing Admission

Numerous variables can derail a NASCAR driver's day behind the wheel. They're accustomed to navigating crashes and car troubles, but Kyle Larson once faced a messy situation for other reasons.

Before he attempts to qualify for the Indianapolis 500, Larson spoke to The Athletic's Jeff Gluck. When asked about "the most miserable you've ever been inside a race car," Larson discussed a particularly horrible experience at the Coca-Cola 600. Although he didn't offer details, the former Cup Series champion still provided too much information.

"I don't remember what year it was, but I had a stomach bug going on — and yeah, we had to relieve some pressure," Larson said. "It felt good, but it was miserable. Very miserable."

Against all odds, Larson left his car and fled the scene without anyone noticing the mishap.

"I had a white suit, and I didn't know what it looked like back there," Larson recalled. "I just lowered it and ran over to my golf cart and my bus driver and hauled a— in the motorhome. It was bad."

Since Larson didn't know the year, it's unclear how he performed through the illness. It's safe to say the incident didn't occur when he won in 2021, as there's no way he or anyone else would have forgotten that unpleasant celebration.

He finished ninth in 2022 and 30th in 2023. Inclement weather pushed back last year's Indy 500, preventing him from starting the Coca-Cola 600 and completing "The Double."

Larson can only hope to avoid another stomach virus when returning to Charlotte Motor Speedway later this month.

The 32-year-old has a long day ahead, as he'll try again to race the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on May 25. Larson will have a tight schedule to make it to North Carolina in time, but he might want to build in some bathroom breaks during his travels.
