The NASCAR Cup Series will take yet another important step towards the season finale at the Phoenix Raceway this Sunday. The 2025 Hollywood Casino 400 will go down at the Kansas Speedway and serve as the second race of the Round of 12. A stunning prize pool will work as an added incentive for drivers to perform better.
Bob Pockrass reported on X that the Cup Series drivers will share $9,797,935 among themselves based on a variety of factors such as finishing position, contribution to year-end points fund, contingency awards, historical performance, charter payouts, etc.
In 2024, the prize pool for this fixture was $9,222,964. The $500,000 increase can be attributed to the new TV deal and a few other factors. The Xfinity Series has a race scheduled alongside the Cup Series this weekend. The prize pool for the same will be $1,651,939.

The massive difference in payouts between the two tiers is something that has become a tradition over several years. The arguably reduced quality of racing and the discontent with the Cup Series have led many to demand that the prize pools reflect the overall fan satisfaction levels with each series.
The upcoming event will be the first race on a 1.5-mile race track since the Coca-Cola 600. It will also be the sixth of seven such races scheduled for 2025. In the race that went down there during the spring of this year, Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson reached Victory Lane.
He put on a completely dominant performance, leading 221 of 267 laps. Last year, Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain grabbed the bragging rights. He is currently a playoff driver and sits 12 points below the cut off line. Larson’s teammate, Chase Elliott, has a considerable shot at victory, too.
He has an average finish rate of 10.4 across 19 starts. Denny Hamlin, who is one of the hottest drivers on the field right now, is also the winningest active driver at Kansas with four wins at the track.
