NASCAR Monday Mash-Up: Brad Keselowski finally breaks the streak

Rowdy was in the mood for double duty at the Track Too Tough to Tame and it was rough. Busch took off in the Truck Series race looking to earn another win, and he did not.

In fact, Busch wrecked on Lap 2 of the race. Then his crew chief sent him back out after repairs and he wrecked again on Lap 12, the truck couldn’t even make it around one corner.

The ‘big one’ hits NASCAR Truck Series field

If you aren’t following the Truck Series this season then you are missing out on some great action. There are a few future Cup Series stars in this series that are putting it all on the line every week.

With 50 laps to go, a bunch of fast trucks were destroyed. Corey Heim, Rajah Caruth, and Matt Crafton were all junked afterward. This opened the door for others, though.

Ross Chastain wins Darlington Truck Series race

I would have liked to have seen a full-time Truck Series driver win. However, Ross Chastain put on a show. He flexed some of that Cup Series talent on the younger drivers in the field.

Nick Sanchez came up second with Ben Rhodes, Christian Eckes, and Ty Majeski rounding out the top-five. One heck of a race on Friday night.

Hailie Deegan doesn’t want to hear it

Moving on to Xfinity Series action, Hailie Deegan was involved in another incident. It was unfortunate for her and the No. 15 AM Racing team.

Deegan was quick to take to social media after she wrecked out of the race. FOX didn’t have a great replay of the incident, but Deegan claims Patrick Emerling doored her while he was a lap down, causing her to wreck.

Justin Allgaier dominates NASCAR Xfinity Series

Ultimately, it was all about Justin Allgaier on Saturday. He was the best of the field and showed it from start to finish.

A clean sweep of both stages and the checkered flag, Allgaier gets his first win of the season. The next stop is the Xfinity regular season championship. Then, playoff time.

NASCAR Throwback Weekend did not disappoint

There are rumblings that Throwback Weekend might take a hiatus or something like that next year. If it does, that is a real shame.

Truck and Xfinity teams really leaned into the concept this year and it was a ton of fun. The few teams that did in the Cup Series also did a great job. Kyle Larson and Terry Labonte matching on the walk to the grid was too perfect.

Future in-laws Blaney and Byron get into it

A little bit of drama before the big drama in the Goodyear 400. NASCAR has a lot of funny connections and relationships. William Byron is dating Ryan Blaney’s sister and the two could very well be in-laws one day soon.

Well, Byron may or may not be to blame for Blaney getting into the wall and ending his day early. That will make for an interesting family night conversation.

Buescher gives Reddick an earful after late contact

Late in this race, Chris Buescher was in the lead with Tyler Reddick coming on him slowly but surely. With 10 laps to go, Reddick made a move deep into Turn 3 and it did not pay off.

Both drivers ended up with flat tires and finished P30 and P32 at the end of this race. Buescher, fresh off that narrow Kansas loss, was fuming mad afterward.

Brad Keselowski breaks winless streak

The last 40 laps of this race were everything you could have wanted from Darlington. Buescher, Reddick, and Brad Keselowski gave us one of the best three-car battles in the NASCAR season.

This storyline has been going on for three years. The entire Next Gen era up to Sunday was winless for Keselowski. With Buescher and Reddick getting flat tires in the last 10 laps, Keselowski took control and put this one away. 110 races, no longer!
