I may be in the minority here among NASCAR fans, but I like Pocono Raceway.
The massive 2.5-mile triangle-shaped track allows cars toward the front of the field to pit without losing a lap, making strategy extremely important at this circuit.
As a result, we're often unsure which of the differing strategies will win out until the end, adding drama to the event.
At this point I'm passing on NASCAR odds for outrights, but am quickly getting down on a 40-1 long-shot pick for Sunday's The Great American Getaway 400 (2:30 p.m. ET, USA Network).
*Odds as of Saturday night
According to live NASCAR odds, Toyota drivers Denny Hamlin (+375) and Martin Truex Jr. (+475) are the favorites for Sunday's race at Pocono, so it may seem counterintuitive to bet Bubba Wallace to finish as the top Toyota.
To start, Wallace showed plenty of speed in Saturday's practice session, posting the fourth-fastest single lap and the fifth-best five-lap average.
However, the 23XI Racing driver got loose after entering the corner a bit too low and shoving his car up the track in qualifying, resulting in a 29th-place starting position.
While that's clearly not ideal, this car appears to have plenty of speed, and due to the potential to get off-sequence from the leaders with a differing strategy, backing Wallace to beat seven other Toyotas is well worth the low-risk, high-upside 40-1 price tag.
Please note that some sportsbooks, such as BetMGM and bet365, are offering this at 25-1 odds, so be sure to navigate over to Caesars for a much beefier 40-1.
