On Tuesday, THQ Nordic announced the long-awaited sequel to their popular junkyard racing game. Wreckfest 2 will feature Early Access on PC, starting Mar. 20, 2025.
The Austrian publisher is no stranger to successful releases, with titles such as Remnant 2, South Park “Snow Day!” and “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” They also boast experience with racing video games with MX vs. ATV Unleashed, Monster Jam: Steel Titans 1 & 2 and the original Wreckfest.
Many NASCAR and dirt racing fans adored the original Wreckfest. Streamers and YouTubers began creating, testing and sharing mods for different cars, tracks and physics. It slowly grew as word of mouth got out about the extensive add-ons available on PC.
Now with the ongoing development for the follow-up game, RFK Racing hinted at the idea of a feature that the Cup Series experienced just the previous weekend.
“Does it include the Clash LCQ,” said the racing organization on X.
Other fans also shared positive anticipation for the new game coming up.
“I actually want this game,” said one verified user.

More from around the world laid out their thoughts with a YouTube Partner from South Africa.
“I’m so excited to play Wreckfest 2, can’t wait,” said JeanGFX.
“W and W for racing games in 2025, and we’re only 2 months in,” posted Dec Games, a content creator with over 50,000 subscribers on YouTube and nearly 100,000 followers on TikTok.
Ed Soundhead, arguably one of the biggest YouTuber creators for the original Wreckfest, simply posted the eye emoji toward the trailer video.
“Wreckfest was always 2 features away from being one of the greatest racing games of our generation,” said Davin Cornelius, a motorsports graphic designer from Toronto. “If the sequel can introduce slipstreaming and they make it easier to play online with friends, it’ll be all-time legendary.”

In fact, with the experience of Cornelius, he added to what RFK Racing tweeted about the game.
“We have the means to make it happen,” he simply put.
With just a handful of weeks before the Early Access releases, time will tell with the Finnish game developer Bugbear Games in what they plan to release short-term and achieve long-term.
Considering they’ve grabbed attention from the NASCAR audience once again, it’s not feedback to be ignored.
