Ahead of the NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas, Ryan Preece and his wife, Heather, welcomed Bentley Ryan into the world. Bentley was born on Thursday and it looks like momma and the baby are healthy. Dad and big sister were there as well, of course.

Rebecca is now big sister to Bentley in the Ryan Preece household. The NASCAR driver is a two-time dad now, better than any racing trophy. To have it happen in the middle of the week and not the race weekend is an achievement in and of itself as well.

NASCAR drivers are always having to thread the needle between family and work. When it comes to births and things of that nature, it can complicate a race weekend. While it will be tough to be away from the newborn so soon, at least Preece can race knowing his son is out in the world.

The season with RFK Racing has been a success for Ryan Preece. He has shown that he deserves to be in the Cup Series in a good ride like the No. 60 Ford. He has earned a lot of great finishes, been close to wins, and even won the pole at Richmond.

Not everything has gone perfectly this season. However, Preece has shown that he can hang with the best of the best on the road courses, and of course, his short track skills are elite as well. But you can’t discount his P3 at Las Vegas or his top-fives at Indy and Iowa.

To tell the truth, Preece is an all-around driver who can contend for wins at a variety of tracks. If I’m Brad Keselowski and Jack Roush, I’m thanking the Lord that no one else poached Preece for 2025.

Ryan Preece could be a dark horse upset at Las Vegas

When we get to the Round of 8, we expect teams to be at the top of their game. So, it ideally makes it harder for non-playoff drivers to win. But we see it year after year. Someone is going to seize the opportunity should it present itself.

The 60 team earned a P3 finish at Vegas earlier this season. That race was the first time we really saw what Preece and RFK could do together. Coming back to the track, Preece has to be thinking that he has a chance to go out, improve, and come away with the win this time around.

Ryan Preece’s son was just born. He has no pressure on him, being a non-playoff driver. Why not go out, race loose and free, and see what happens after 400 miles?
