Samantha Busch gives live update on Kyle Busch No. 8 strategy at NASCAR Sonoma

Crew chief…Samantha Busch? During the Sonoma Cup Series race, Kyle Busch’s wife is giving updates on the team’s strategy. The Busch family is all racing, all the time. Not just Kyle and Brexton!

As Kyle Busch tries to get his No. 8 car pointed in the right direction, his wife is giving fans updates online. In case you were wondering, Busch’s stop after Stage 1 went long, and that was indeed the plan.

Samantha updated fans on the situation. “Planned long stop on pit road to try to make a huge swing on the car,” Busch wrote on X/Twitter. She had provided an earlier update during the race as well.

“Lap 15 Kyle reported a few laps ago no rear lateral whatsoever and no rear tire grip. Plans to get it fixed up at the stage break,” that update said.

Kyle Busch needs a good run today. His best races so far this year have been at COTA and Chicago. So, there is something about the road and street courses that has worked for Busch this season. Then again, he hasn’t been much of a factor in this race. So, it’s hard to tell what to expect of him as things start to wind down.

Richard Childress Racing has not been giving Busch the cars he needs. The speed off of the hauler has not been there all season long. With another year at least at RCR, do we ever see this pairing get back to Victory Lane? Right now, it looks like that organization is as lost as ever.

Kyle Busch is doing all he can in the No. 8

You have to feel for Kyle Busch. He is an all-time great. 63 career wins, two championships, and a whole bunch of other accolades. Busch has done and achieved almost everything there is to achieve in the sport, and even created a few new ones in the process.

Richard Childress Racing has not been up to the standards it needs to be. Even Austin Dillon has lacked speed for most of the season. We have also heard complaints about ECR Engines from both Kaulig and Trackhouse drivers. Is that a coincidence or something that should be acknowledged?

Kyle Busch is a better driver than what his results have said the last two years. I’m not sure what the answer is at this point in his career, but someone has to do something to get Rowdy into a faster car.
