A candidate for the U.S. Senate took an unprovoked shot at 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace this week.
Wallace, who drives the No. 23 car for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin's racing team, was on the receiving end of a shot from Paul Dans. He is currently challenging Lindsey Graham for the senate seat, with the Republican primary set for early June.
Dans, who previously served as the Chief of Staff at the Office of Personnel Management during President Trump's first term, is claiming that he wants to bring the Confederate flag back to NASCAR. That's part of his campaign platform.
In the process, he's taking a shot at Bubba Wallace.
"Great day in Darlington so far. We will not bow down to @BubbaWallace anymore," he said.
"It’s a part of our TRADITION to fly the Battle Flag at these races and I will pressure NASCAR to bring it BACK."

It's a bold platform, to say the least.
Wallace, who thought he found a noose in his garage back in 2020, only to have it be revealed as a garage puller, helped push for the removal of the Confederate flag.
"My next step would be to get rid of all Confederate flags,” Wallace said in 2020.
“Get them out of here."
Jeff Gordon showed support.
“I’ll never know what it’s like to walk in Bubba’s shoes or the shoes of anyone that’s experienced racism. I do know I can be better; we can do better to create positive change,” Gordon said. “We need to step up now more than we ever have in the past. We are listening. We are learning. We are ready for change.”
But now, a candidate for U.S. Congress is pushing for a reversal.
