2024 NBA Draft Results: Complete First-Round Selections
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The 2024 NBA Draft is the first time the league is hosting the draft over two days, with day one consisting of only the first round. As a result, we know the 30 newest additions to NBA rosters as the first round elapsed. Zaccharie Risascher was the first selection and went to the Atlanta Hawks, as an entertaining Draft played out after his selection.

There were a few trades throughout the night, but nothing as impactful as the Deni Avdija trade that took place hours before the Draft. Minnesota acquiring the No. 8 pick for Rob Dillingham was arguably the biggest trade, with teams like the Nuggets, Suns, Knicks, and Wizards also feeling out the trade market on the night.

Let's take a look at the full list of the 30 first-round selections in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The NBA is going to look dramatically altered after the Draft, with teams finding great value for their picks across the first round. While the top-end quality of this class doesn't compare to the classes that have taken place in recent history, all these players could be impactful within their own situations.

The top two picks were predictable, with Risascher and Sarr both expected to go in their respective positions. The Rockets taking Sheppard at No. 3 was a surprise, but his shooting ability will be clutch for the franchise.

The Minnesota Timberwolves had one of the most notable draft nights, adding two talented guards who can create and score with Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr. Given the cost they gave up to acquire Dillingham and their 2025 pick headed to the Utah Jazz, maximizing this draft by adding guards for the future was a tremendous move.

The Lakers will leave the draft with a big smile on their face as they picked up Dalton Knecht while he was falling down the order. The late draft saw the Nuggets move up to No. 22 to select Da'Ron Holmes II, a player who reportedly had a draft promise from the Nuggets weeks ago. They traded with the Suns to make it happen, giving Phoenix No. 28 which they used on defensive ace Ryan Dunn.

There are some questionable decisions sprinkled over the order, but those decisions will be answered soon enough when we see these players start playing.

The second round of the NBA Draft will take place tomorrow, June 27 at 8:00 PM (EST).
