3 Brooklyn Nets Players Who Could Be Dealt in the 2025-26 Season

It has been a rough last two seasons for the Brooklyn Nets as they have been one of the worst teams in the NBA.

The Nets will now enter the 2025-26 season looking to turn things around, especially after making some key additions to their roster this offseason.

Of course, Brooklyn pulled off a major trade with the Denver Nuggets that landed them Michael Porter Jr. in exchange for Cameron Johnson as they will now add the star forward next to Cam Thomas and Nic Claxton in their lineup.

Brooklyn also added five rookies in the first round of the2025 NBA draft as they selected Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf, Drake Powell and Danny Wolf.

Despite these additions, the Nets may still have another rough season ahead of them and if that is the case, these three players could be on the move as they continue their rebuild.

Nic Claxton

Claxton has been one of the more underrated starting centers in the NBA throughout his career, especially over the last three seasons.

The 26-year-old big man is a great inside scorer, rebounder and defender who could draw a ton of interest from many teams around the NBA if the Nets decide to part with him.

Brooklyn may also be able to land a massive trade package for the young center, which could work in their favor as they try to turn their franchise around.

Cam Thomas

Thomas reportedly signed a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer to return to the Nets this season which will make him an unrestricted free agent next summer and also includes a no-trade clause.

Of course, the 23-year-old guard and the Nets were unable to reach a long-term deal this offseason and with him now entering the final year of his contract in Brooklyn, the Nets may elect to trade him instead of potentially losing him for nothing next summer.

For Thomas, he is an elite scorer who averaged a career-high 24.0 points per game last season and there is no doubt that he would draw interest from other teams if the Nets do place him on the trade block.

Michael Porter Jr.

While the Nets acquired Porter Jr. earlier this offseason in the Johnson trade, it would not be a complete surprise if they at least listen to offers for the star forward.

The 27-year-old forward is a great scorer who averaged a career-high 18.2 points per game last season with the Nuggets. He is also a solid rebounder and has improved mightily on the defensive end.

If the Nets do elect to try and move Porter Jr. this season, they may be able to land a solid trade package in return while also freeing up cap space due to his massive contract.

With the Nets still in a rebuild, moving on from these three players would be a risk, though it could open the door for them to acquire more young talent and draft capital while also freeing up cap space to go after a superstar player at some point in the near future.
