After missing the playoffs last season, many around the NBA expected the Sacramento Kings to begin a rebuild this offseason.
Instead, Sacramento has elected to keep their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine together and they have also made some notable additions to their roster.
The Kings selected Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 draft and they landed Dennis Schroder in free agency via a sign-and-trade with the Detroit Pistons, filling their hole at the starting point guard position after trading De'Aaron Fox last season.
On Wednesday, the Kings made another roster move as they waived guard Terence Davis due to his contract being non-guaranteed for this season.

By waiving Davis, they now have an open roster spot to sign another player in free agency and these three players could be potential targets for them.
The Kings have been linked to Russell Westbrook for most of the offseason as they have become the likely landing spot for the veteran guard.
The former NBA MVP would give Sacramento a much-needed backup point guard behind Schroder who would likely have a large role off the bench.
Of course, Westbrook played well last season with the Denver Nuggets as he proved he could still play a key role either in the starting lineup or off the bench and the Kings may look to sign him to fill their final roster spot.
Contract talks between Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors have been stalled for a while this offseason and because of this, the Kings could look to make a move for him.
It has been reported that Sacramento made a contract offer to Kuminga, though they failed to meet Golden State’s high asking price to acquire him via a sign-and-trade.
Despite this, the Warriors may be willing to move off their original asking price for Kuminga since they have failed to make any additions to their roster in free agency and if that is the case, the Kings may be in prime position to make a deal for him.
With the Kings in desperate need of a backup point guard, Malcolm Brogdon could become an option for them if they are unable to sign Westbrook.
The 32-year-old guard has struggled with injuries over his career, though he has proved to be a reliable backup point guard.
Because of this, the Kings could shift their focus to Brogdon if they are unable to work out a deal with Westbrook to add a much-needed backup point guard behind Schroder.
While the Kings could target all three of these players, they also have other options in both free agency and the trade market to fill their final roster spot as they try to make a push for a playoff spot this season.
