3 Players the Orlando Magic Could Target in a Trade During 2025-26 NBA Season
Jeremy Reper-Imagn Images

After being the surprise team in the NBA two seasons ago, the Orlando Magic took a step back last season, mainly due to injuries to their star duo of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.

Now with both players set to enter the 2025-26 season healthy, they will look to bounce back and secure a top seed in the Eastern Conference, especially after making some key additions to their roster this offseason.

The Magic began their offseason by pulling off a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for Desmond Bane, adding a much-needed 3-point shooter to their roster, and they also signed Tyus Jones in free agency to bolster their backcourt depth.

With these moves, the Magic are looking to secure a top seed in the East and make a deep playoff run this season.

Despite this, they could also look to make more moves ahead of the trade deadline and if that is the case, they could target these three players.

Trae Young

The Orlando Magic are in need of another 3-point shooter and Trae Young could be a potential option for them if the Atlanta Hawks decide to move him.

Of course, Young can be a free agent after the season and the Hawks have yet to offer him a new contract which has raised questions about his future in Atlanta.

If the Hawks do decide to move him, Young could be a solid fit in Orlando due to his 3-point shooting and elite playmaking skills, giving the Magic another star player to help them try to make a championship run.

Anfernee Simons

Orlando has been linked to Anfernee Simons over the past few seasons as they are in need of more scoring around Banchero and Wagner and with the Boston Celtics looking to move him, the Magic could target him this season.

For Simons, he would give the Magic another reliable scoring option in their rotation to take the pressure off Banchero and Wagner while also giving them another young player to add to their core.

The young guard would also likely be a cheap option for the Magic as they try to make a deep playoff run this season.

Nikola Vucevic

While Wendell Carter Jr. has been a solid starting center for the Magic during his time there, reuniting with Nikola Vucevic could make Orlando into a true contender.

Of course, Vucevic is entering the final year of his contract and it is likely that the Chicago Bulls will look to move him, which could open the door for a reunion with the Magic.

The veteran center would give the Magic a solid scorer, who has improved his outside shooting, along with a great rebounder and solid defender.

While the Magic could target these three players, they could also elect to keep their current core together as they try to make a deep playoff run this season.
