It was another rough season last year for the Phoenix Suns as they missed the playoffs after finishing 11th in the Western Conference standings.
Due to this, Phoenix elected to make major changes to their roster this offseason that began when they traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for a package centered around Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the pick used to select Khaman Maluach.
The Suns then acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets, selected Maluach, Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea in the 2025 draft and bought out Bradley Beal, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Now with the Suns’ big three dismantled, Devin Booker is the only star who remains and Phoenix is hoping to build around him to become a contender once again.
Because of this, Phoenix may be active ahead of the trade deadline to add more talent to their roster and these three players could be potential trade targets.
It was reported earlier this offseason that the Suns had offered Jonathan Kuminga a contract in free agency, though they were unable to meet the Golden State Warriors’ high asking price to acquire him in a sign-and-trade.
Despite this, Phoenix could look to make a trade for Kuminga ahead of the deadline as they continue to search for more young talent to add to their roster, though it may be tough for them to do if Golden State does not lower their asking price.
If Phoenix is able to pull off a trade, the young forward would give them another solid young scorer and defender they could build around for the future.
Since being selected fourth overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2020 draft, Patrick Williams has been unable to live up to the hype.
Due to this, Chicago has been looking to move him and Phoenix could be a team that takes a chance on him.
Of course, Williams would likely be a cheap trade option for the Suns and he has shown upside, though his injury history could cause Phoenix to look elsewhere.
Jonathan Isaac was able to stay healthy last season and he was a key player for the Orlando Magic.
Despite this, Orlando could look to move him this season and the Suns could take a chance on him, mainly due to his play on the defensive end as they are in need of a defensive-minded forward.
Isaac is also a solid scorer, though his injury history could be a cause for concern for Phoenix in a potential trade.
While the Suns could target these three players, they could also look elsewhere to add more talent to their roster as they enter the first season of their rebuild.
