The Milwaukee Bucks are coming off yet another season that saw them be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, which has been a recurring theme over the last three seasons.
Because of this, many have begun to question whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will stay in Milwaukee, though he is set to remain there heading into the new season and there will be new players around him.
Of course, Milwaukee’s biggest offseason addition was Myles Turner who left the Indiana Pacers for the Bucks in free agency and Milwaukee also re-signed Bobby Portis and Kevin Porter Jr., though they did let go of Damian Lillard.
With these moves, the Bucks are expected to be a solid team in the Eastern Conference this season, but if they elect to make some changes ahead of the trade deadline, these three players could be on the move.
The storyline surrounding Giannis was the biggest headline entering the NBA offseason as many around the league began to question if he would demand a trade after Milwaukee’s third-straight first-round exit.
Despite this, it appears as though the superstar forward will remain in Milwaukee to begin this season but if the Bucks struggle early on, it may cause him to demand a trade.
If that is the case, many teams around the league are expected to show interest in the two-time MVP and if the Bucks elect to move him, they would likely receive a massive trade package in return to kickstart their rebuild.
Milwaukee acquired Kyle Kuzma at the trade deadline last season from the Washington Wizards in the trade that sent Kris Middleton to Washington.
In the second half of the season, the 30-year-old forward played a key role for the Bucks, though he did struggle at times and his fit alongside Giannis is in question.
Because of this, Kuzma may once again be on the trade block entering this season as Milwaukee could look to move him to land a player more fit for their lineup.
While the Bucks re-signed Portis this offseason, the addition of Turner will likely have him coming off the bench once again.
Of course, the 30-year-old big man was expected to be Milwaukee’s new starting center this season after Brook Lopez left in free agency but that is now changed with the addition of Turner.
Despite this, Portis has excelled in his role off the bench during his time in Milwaukee but if the Bucks struggle early on, they could look to move the veteran big man, especially with many teams around the league looking for more frontcourt depth.
It is set to be an interesting season for the Bucks that could see them either upgrade their roster ahead of the trade deadline to make a run at a championship or they could start a rebuild if Giannis forces his way out.
