NBA insider Jake Fischer recently appeared on a Bleacher Report video stream to answer questions and cover trade rumblings. A topic of note was how the Golden State Warriors will respond to De'Anthony Melton's season-ending injury. Fischer then suggested Patrick Williams could interest the Warriors, given that the Chicago Bulls are more open-minded about parting ways with Williams.

Fischer didn't directly link Williams to the Golden State but suggested an opportunity for a deal given the Bulls' and Warriors' respective outlooks. With that in mind, there's a possibility for other suitors at the 2025 trade deadline if Williams is healthy. Williams is a "three and D" role player who can fit on any team looking to add size and shooting for the long term.
Here are three mock trades for Williams if the Bulls decide to part ways with the former fourth overall draft pick.
Warriors Receive: Patrick Williams, Torrey Craig
Bulls Receive: De'Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II, lottery-protected 2025 first-round pick
Analysis: The Warriors add much-needed size without giving up their young core. Given the Warriors are tied for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, it's hard to imagine them being reluctant to give up a pick, especially one that's protected. On the flip side, the Bulls move off Williams' deal while possibly adding a promising young player through the draft.
Pistons Receive: Patrick Williams
Bulls Receive: Tim Hardaway Jr, 5 second-round picks
Analysis: Some Pistons fans may view five second-round picks as an overpay. But considering Hardaway is a salary-filler and a first-round selection would be a guaranteed lottery pick, five second-round picks for a floor-spacing defender under a cost-controlled contract doesn't seem so bad. Similar to the mock trade with Golden State, the Bulls don't take on any long-term money and replenish their draft assets in the process.
Cavaliers Receive: Patrick Williams
Bulls Receive: Caris LeVert, Tristan Thompson, 2031 top-10 protected first-round pick
Analysis: New Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson found success with the established core, so adding complementary pieces makes sense for Cleveland. The Bulls again receive financial relief and build toward their future. A pick may not be the most attractive piece to get back, but it's difficult to find a one-for-one talent swap for Williams on any team in the league.
