3 Potential Phoenix Suns Trade Candidates Entering the 2025-26 NBA Season

After missing the playoffs last season, the Phoenix Suns elected to make major changes to their roster this offseason.

Phoenix began their offseason by trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for a package centered around Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th pick in the 2025 draft they used to select Khaman Maluach.

They then acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets, added Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea in the draft and bought out Bradley Beal’s contract, leaving Devin Booker as the only player left from their big three.

With these moves, the Suns have made their roster younger as they try to turn things around behind Booker and they are expected to be outside of the playoff picture this season.

Because of this, the Suns could be active ahead of the trade deadline and these three players could be potential trade candidates.

Nick Richards

The Suns acquired Nick Richards from the Hornets ahead of last season’s trade deadline to upgrade their frontcourt.

The 27-year-old center did help Phoenix’s frontcourt struggles but with them adding both Williams and Maluach this offseason, Richards could be the odd man out in their frontcourt rotation.

Because of this, he has recently been placed in trade rumors and the Suns may be willing to move him this season, especially if they are able to land a solid trade package for him.

Grayson Allen

With the Suns shedding salary and making their team younger this offseason, Grayson Allen’s name has been in many trade rumors.

Of course, the 29-year-old guard is a great defender and three-point shooter who should draw interest from many teams around the NBA if the Suns do shop him ahead of the trade deadline.

Due to this, it is likely that Phoenix tries to move on from Allen this season as they look to add more young talent and draft capital to help with their rebuild.

Royce O’Neale

Like Allen, Royce O’Neale has been another veteran Suns’ player who has been the subject of trade rumors this offseason.

The 32-year-old 3-and-D wing could draw interest from multiple contending teams this season that are in desperate need of wing depth.

Because of this, it is likely that Phoenix will be open to moving him as long as they receive a good enough trade package in return.

With the Suns starting a rebuild this offseason by breaking up their star trio, they could look to make multiple moves this season ahead of the trade deadline to add more young talent to their roster around Booker, Green and Williams along with much-needed draft capital.
