Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has been mentioned multiple times in trade talks recently. The Warriors are looking for a new star to pair with guard Stephen Curry after forward Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending torn ACL. Golden State has targeted Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

There are only limited ways the Warriors can trade for Antetokounmpo, which involves trading one of their star players. The team has remained unmoved in potentially trading Butler, which means Green’s future with the franchise is in jeopardy. Due to the Greek Freak’s $62.7 million salary, any team willing to make a deal with the Bucks needs to match the salary.

Green’s $25.8 million salary this season could be enough to match.

On Monday, ESPN’s Anthony Slater revealed that Warriors coach revealed that he talked to Draymond Green regarding the trade rumors.

“This is probably the first time, I would say, since I’ve been here that his name has ever really been mentioned in trade talks,” Kerr said. “So it’s different. But it’s also part of the league. It’s part of almost every player’s journey in this league.”

Green has remained focused and unbothered by the noise about his future in the Bay. There are only a few days until the trade deadline, and that will determine the four-time champion’s future with the Warriors.

The Warriors have put Draymond Green on the trade block

Slater confirmed on Tuesday that Draymond Green is on the trade block. His 14-year career with the Warriors is now uncertain, as the team wants to pursue Antetokounmpo.

“General manager Mike Dunleavy and controlling owner Joe Lacob have maintained a motivation to get a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo across the finish line and, as part of that, Green’s name has been involved in the framework of available offers to the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources said,” the ESPN reporter wrote.

The Bucks and Warriors have until Thursday to make a deal.
