76ers’ Jaylen Brown stunned by special gift from Massachusetts

Philadelphia 76ers forward Jaylen Brown had an acrimonious exit from the Boston Celtics. Even before being traded, Brown did not hide his frustration with the Celtics following their first-round loss in the playoffs, incidentally, against the 76ers. He, however, maintained that he had a good relationship with the front office. Still, that did not prevent him from being shipped to Philadelphia.

Despite the ugly divorce, Brown was happy to return to Boston on Sunday to host 741 Frequency Fest. It was his way to thank the city and say goodbye to the fans after 10 seasons with the Celtics. The free event featured music, games, food, and giveaways.

Brown, who also brought his championship ring and Finals MVP trophy, expressed his gratitude when he addressed the crowd, stressing that Boston will always have a special place in his heart.

The feeling was mutual, as the 29-year-old star was surprised with a key to the state of Massachusetts, as reported by WEEI’s Justin Turpin.
