76ers sign 2-time champ to training camp roster

The Philadelphia 76ers are less than two months away from getting their highly anticipated 2026-27 season underway. The 76ers brought in plenty of star power this offseason, headlined by the additions of LeBron James in free agency and Jaylen Brown via trade.

On Tuesday, the 76ers made another move to add to their training camp roster.

“Back-to-back champ Dillon Jones signed with the 76ers to an Exhibit 10 contract, a team source told ESPN. He’ll be a part of Philly’s training camp later this month,” reported NBA insider Dave McMenamin of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Jones was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder when they won their first-ever NBA title two years ago, and was also on the New York Knicks last season when they captured their first title in 53 years.

The 76ers will certainly hope that this trend continues when he joins Philadelphia, assuming he makes it through the training camp cuts and onto the final roster. Philadelphia’s depth, or lack thereof, has been a major talking point since their blockbuster acquisitions this summer, so the team may need to dig deep in order to find diamonds in the rough that head coach Nick Nurse can bring off the bench.

Meanwhile, questions persist about how the 76ers’ new main pieces will gel, with the team still seemingly lacking in terms of outside shooting and defense, and with some major concerns about health and availability.

Still, things are undoubtedly much more exciting in 76ers Nation than they have been in quite some time.
