Cowboys, Maxx Crosby connection gains new life

Maxx Crosby and the Dallas Cowboys just can't get away from each other. Even though Crosby is with the Las Vegas Raiders for now and the Cowboys are forging ahead with their own edge rusher unit, the idea of Crosby going to Dallas just never gets old.

Over the offseason, the Cowboys were interested in Crosby. A trade didn't pan out, but that doesn't mean it won't.

Now, a new, bold prediction has the Cowboys once again linked to Crosby.

Maxx Crosby could still end up with the Cowboys

In a feature out on Friday, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report discusses some bold trades that could go down this season. As the season progresses, anything is possible before the trade deadline.

He sees Crosby getting traded to the Cowboys. In his pitch, Dallas gets Crosby, while the Raiders get a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 first-round pick and edge Rashan Gary. That's quite a trade.

Last season, Crosby finished with 10 sacks and 73 total tackles in 15 games, according to NFL research.

So, why does he think this could happen? He notes that the team has "taken an aggressive approach to rebuilding their defense this offseason, and franchise owner Jerry Jones has stated that he may not be finished making moves."

Knox adds that "the Raiders seem content to keep Crosby after their offseason trade with the Baltimore Ravens fell through. However, they could revisit the idea of flipping the 29-year-old if they're struggling to compete in late October."

He doesn't just think this could happen. Knox thinks it could be a good move, stating, "Trading Crosby, who could be past his prime by the time the Raiders are ready to contend, could get Las Vegas a very strong return."

This is certainly a situation to watch as the Cowboys' season unfolds.
