76ers star suffers ugly-looking knee injury

The Philadelphia 76ers really cannot catch a break this season.

Paul George exited the team’s game at the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday with a hyperextended left knee. The injury occurred when George collided with an opponent while going for a rebound early in the third quarter.

You can see that George’s left knee bent the wrong direction after the contact.

This is a repeat of sorts for George and the Sixers. George missed five games to start the season with a left knee bone bruise. Now he has reinjured the same knee.

George had just 2 points in 17 minutes before getting hurt. He entered Wednesday’s game averaging 16.7 points on 39.6 percent shooting in seven contests. The Sixers are one of the most disappointing teams in the league and ended up losing the game, 117-111, to drop them to 2-12 on the season.
