There are no two better words in sports than “Game Seven,” and on Sunday night, that’s exactly what fans are getting as the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets face off in Houston.

After trailing 3–1 in the series, the Warriors stormed back to even things at 3–3, setting up a dramatic winner-takes-all clash with a trip to the second round on the line.

However, the lead-up to the game hasn’t been without controversy. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver faced some backlash over the league’s decision to allow the Rockets and Warriors to wear their alternate city edition jerseys and play on an alternate court design for the high-stakes matchup.

Many fans voiced frustration, arguing that traditional home and away uniforms should be worn in playoff games to honor the history and significance of the postseason.

"Alt jerseys and an alt court for a GAME SEVEN? Come on..." NBA Insider Kevin O'Connor posted.

Fans also chimed in on the controversy:

"I seriously got confused. I thought someone else was playing in Houston right now," a fan said

"League blows," another fan posted

"It’s out of control. Warriors have given up on the best uniforms in the NBA. That they won all those titles with. Sad. At least the home team is wearing white," someone else added.

another fan remarked, "League is a show. No business."

One more fan commented, "league with great tradition always trying to hard to muck things up."

While the choice sparked mixed reactions, all eyes remain on Sunday night’s result. The winner will face a quick turnaround, heading straight into a second-round matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Game 1 scheduled for Tuesday.
