Five-star BYU commit AJ Dybantsa is coming off a great performance in the McDonald's All-American Game and looks to make an impact next year. Despite being the top player in the nation over the past 18 months, his reign officially came to an end on Wednesday.

The Utah Prep star was recently asked about his NIL offer from BYU, which was reportedly over a record $7 million. Dybantsa denied agreeing to receive the large sum and called it a 'false rumor' in a viral video.

According to reports from On3’s Pete Nakos, BYU offered a lucrative NIL deal to Dybantsa, potentially worth up to $4.5 million last year. This has sparked significant interest about the Cougars' future and the figure has jumped up since the Sweet 16 loss to Alabama.

Dybantsa, a 6'9", 210-pound forward, is considered the best prospect in high school basketball over the past decade. His skills have drawn comparisons to NBA stars with scouts raving about his combination of size, wingspan, and basketball IQ.

Despite receiving 34 offers from top-tier programs like North Carolina, Kansas, and USC, Dybantsa’s recruitment to BYU appears to be the most intriguing, given the financial commitment from the program from a number of high-end donors. The NIL package will make him a top earner in college athletics nearly overnight.
