Like many in the league, Alex Caruso finds it tough when he’s matched up against Stephen Curry.
Stephen Curry has become one of the most unstoppable scorers in NBA history. The Warriors star has firmly cemented his place among the game’s all-time greats.

Curry’s influence on three-point shooting is massive. His ability to hit from anywhere on the court didn’t just make him a threat — it changed how teams approach the game, inspiring an entire generation of shooters.
The former MVP stands alone in many ways, holding several of the league’s records for three-pointers made.
A lot of that comes down to his speed. As a smaller guard, Curry often has a quickness edge over other stars, helping him create space and get his shots off.
Guarding Curry isn’t easy for anyone. Alex Caruso knows this well from their multiple matchups over the years. Even as one of the top on-ball defenders in today’s game, he can speak to just how challenging that assignment can be.
Speaking on the Dan Patrick Show, the two-time NBA champion opened up about what it’s like having to stay in front of Stephen Curry.
According to Caruso, Curry is even more dangerous off the ball because his movement sparks the Warriors’ offence.
He also joked that Draymond Green and Curry often get away with illegal screens during games when they make plays together.
“That’s the biggest thing that people talk about. I don’t know if regular NBA fans understand the scouting report of him is – he’s most dangerous when he gives the ball up. Because even when he comes down, he gives the ball up. Now, all of a sudden, they’re going into movement.
“Him and Draymond are so connected. He knows exactly where to go, how to make the reads. And as a defender, I always think that people set illegal screens, and they get away with a couple.”
Stephen Curry is one of the hardest players to defend in NBA history. But he’s yet to have the right pieces around him this offseason.
There’s been a lot of silence coming from the Golden State Warriors, who haven’t made a single addition through either free agency or trade so far.
Green shared his thoughts on what kind of players would fit best alongside Curry and Jimmy Butler, but so far, there’s been little movement from the front office to strengthen the squad.
The team is expected to bring in Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton soon. Even with those additions, it still doesn’t feel like they have enough to make a real run at the title.
When you compare their roster to other top teams in the West, it’s clear they’re still missing depth and star power — unless something changes soon.
