Alex Caruso has been impressed with one OKC Thunder signing, acknowledging his shooting prowess.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have the strongest roster in the NBA heading into the 2025-26 season. The defending champions will be one of the favorites to win it all, once again.

The Thunder’s starting lineup is going to remain unchanged, barring any unforeseen injuries in the weeks to come.

So far, the Thunder have used the preseason to give more minutes to their younger stars, preparing them for the regular season. Brooks Barnhizer’s relentless defense on Cooper Flagg had fans applauding him.

While Ousmane Dieng has impressed Mark Daigneault, it is a training camp signee that has caught the eye of two-time champion Alex Caruso.

Alex Caruso loves Chris Youngblood’s energy, praises his shooting ability

Alex Caruso took time to show some love to OKC Thunder’s training camp signing Chris Youngblood, praising his ability to shoot.

Aside from his ‘tremendous’ shooting ability, Caruso also acknowledged Youngblood’s brilliant energy, how he maintains a positive attitude, and puts in the work in every practice session.

“Obviously, a tremendous shooter. He’s locked and loaded every time the ball comes his way… Every day he comes in with a smile in his face and working hard.”

In his first game with the Thunder, Youngblood had a brilliant 20-point outing, going 5-8 from beyond the arc and 7-11 from the field.

However, Youngblood didn’t have a great second game with the Thunder, scoring just six points against the Mavericks on 2-10 shooting. But he has the chance to improve as time goes on.

OKC Thunder have solid chance to repeat as NBA champions

The Oklahoma City Thunder could give Chris Youngblood the final two-way roster spot, and have a strong squad heading into the new season.

The reigning and defending NBA champions are favored by many to return to the NBA Finals this season, given that their roster is mostly unchanged.

With depth and skill at their disposal, the Thunder have all the tools needed to become the first team to repeat as NBA champions since 2018.

However, the last few years have shown us how difficult it is to repeat as champions. In fact, no NBA champion has reached the Conference Finals in the following year since 2018.

But the Thunder have everything they need to break that streak and continue making history.
