The NBA recently revealed the 2024-25 All-NBA Teams to the general public. However, the NBA’s recent revelations aren’t agreed upon by all of the namesake public. Read on for all three teams and which players were labeled as snubs.
1st team: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Donovan Mitchell 2nd team: Jalen Brunson, Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, and Evan Mobley 3rd team: Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Jalen Williams
When there are All-NBA teams, there are just as many snubs. Just 15 players received these honors, which resulted in several players being labeled as snubs. Those players include Alperen Sengun, Trae Young, and Victor Wembanyama, just to name a few. Wembanyama, 21, was one of the top performers during the regular season, but a blood clot in his right shoulder that forced him to miss the final 30 games of the regular season.
Wembanyama’s situation resembled Kevin Durant’s situation this season. Durant, 36, suffered a left ankle sprain that kept him out for the end of the regular season. Durant needed to play in just three more games to earn All-NBA honors, as the NBA requires a minimum of 65 games nowadays.
Sengun, 22, was arguably snubbed as well. Sengun ranked seventh in double-doubles this season for a total of 45. Sengun also was the best player on the Houston Rockets, also known as the second-best team in the Western Conference. In addition, Sengun averaged 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, while shooting 49.6% from the field goal line, 23.3% from the three-point line, and 69.2% from the free throw line.
The NBA isn’t always right, which is to be expected, as no professional sports league is perfect. However, the All-NBA teams weren’t the brightest this year. Every player arguably deserved All-NBA honors, but Sengun and Young should’ve been included. Sengun and Young, 26, shined for the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks’ rosters.
Young’s 2024-25 campaign might’ve been his best as a member of the Hawks since 2018. Young averaged 24.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 11.6 assists per game, while shooting 41.1% from the field goal line, 34.0% from the three-point line, and 87.5% from the free throw line. Young is also one of the best deep three-point shooters in the NBA.
