There has been growing trade speculation surrounding Ayo Dosunmu, as the Chicago Bulls guard is entering the final year of his current contract in the 2025-26 campaign.

However, according to Chicago Bulls insider KC Johnson, Dosunmu is expected to return to the team next season, despite garnering interest from a Western Conference playoff team.

“The Bulls did have substantive talks, I’m told, with a Western Conference playoff team earlier this offseason regarding Dosunmu,” Johnson said on CHSN. “But the two teams couldn’t find a common ground on a trade package. And all signs (for now) point to Ayo Dosunmu returning (to the Chicago Bulls).”

Johnson previously noted that the Chicago Bulls may be forced to trade either Dosunmu or Coby White to avoid losing both players for nothing next summer, when they become unrestricted free agents. However, the team appears not to be in a rush to do so.

Chicago Bulls sophomore forward named as the team’s most untouchable player

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report views Matas Buzelis as the Chicago Bulls’ most untouchable player because of his star potential. Buckley believes that the team struck gold with the 20-year-old swingman when they used the 11th overall pick of last year’s NBA Draft to get him.

“As one might expect, this roster is about as blah as an NBA roster can get, but the promise Buzelis showed down the stretch of his rookie season was enough to make him the obvious choice here,” Buckley wrote in his column.

“While the 20-year-old wasn’t great or even very good, he flashed intriguing two-way versatility. He’s a danger in transition, a capable (if streaky) shot-maker and a disruptive defender who can switch through assignments and make plays as a weak-side helper. For a team that waited far too long to embrace a youth movement, he looks like a legitimate find,” he concluded.
