Allen Iverson was one of the NBA’s most electrifying players, especially during his peak years.

Even though he did not have the size that many superstars have, his quickness and fearlessness made him a nightmare to defend.

He spent 14 seasons in the NBA, with his best years coming during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers.

While Iverson piled up plenty of individual awards throughout his career, he never did manage to win an NBA title before retiring.

But imagine if Iverson had a chance to play in today’s game and build a roster around himself. Who would he pick?

Iverson always played with confidence. Even early in his career, Michael Jordan was quick to highlight the strength of his mentality.

If given a choice of any current star to team up with, he did not hesitate in picking Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid and Luka Doncic as his three ideal teammates.

Appearing on The Stephen A. Smith Show, he explained: “I would love to play with a healthy Embiid, I would love to play with Joker, and Luka. Straight killer.”

With his background as both a point guard and shooting guard, playing alongside someone like Jokic or Embiid seems like a natural fit for Iverson’s game.

On the other hand, there are questions about how well he would mesh with Doncic, since both are used to having the ball in their hands and running the show.

Allen Iverson on why he would fit with ‘straight killer’ Luka Doncic

Stephen A. Smith, as you might expect, brought up the question of how Iverson and Doncic would work together on the court. But Iverson did not hesitate to give his perspective.

“I know what to do with it when I get it, I know how to touch it. You put me on the court with that serial killer, you got problems,” he replied confidently.

That answer shows just how much belief Iverson has in his own game, even after all these years. It is enough to make fans wonder what that pairing might have looked like if their careers had overlapped.

Of course, it is only a hypothetical now, with Iverson well into retirement and Doncic still building his legacy in the league.
