LeBron James is no stranger to living the big moments in the NBA, much like what Tyrese Maxey did in Game 5 for the Philadelphia 76ers. This led to the King reacting to this season’s Most Improved Player of the Year and how he helped get the dub against the New York Knicks.

In the latest match between the two Eastern Co ference teams, the Sixers went home with the 112-106 win in overtime. Tyrese Maxey put up an insane performance by dropping 46 points on 56 percent shooting from the field, five rebounds, nine assists, and the logo three-pointer that forced saved the game for Philly. Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid added 19 points each, while the latter also made 16 rebounds and 10 assists.

For his part, All-Star guard Jalen Brunson lifted the Knicks on his shoulders by notching 40 points and six assists. Josh Hart contributed 18 points and nine rebounds, while OG Anunoby finished the game with 17 points and six boards.

Although the Knicks expected to close the series right in front of their home crowd, Maxey’s late game heroics from the logo extender Philadelphia’s season. This dub gives them the chance to make the most out of the victory by forcing the series to go to a potential Game 7 down the road.

After the game, various personalities shared their thoughts on how this season’s Most Improved Player saved the Sixers’ season. Among those who reacted is no other than Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James:

After James Harden was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, Maxey assumed the starting guard role and made it his own all season long. Over the course of 70 games, the one-time All-Star posted averages of 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.

With the win, the series will now go back to Philadelphia as Embiid, Maxey, and the Sixers hope they can force a deciding Game 7. For sure, all eyes will be on both teams to see who go on to the next round in the coming days.
