Longtime Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban did not forget about his faithful employees after selling a huge stake in the team.
Cuban has been reduced to a minority owner of the Mavs after the surprising news that he was selling off huge shares of the team to make way for his grand vision. Specifics of the billion-dollar transaction can be found here.
Cuban’s employees received some incredible news after the sale went public. In an email posted on X by ESPN reporter Tim MacMahon, Cuban informed employees that he was paying out “approximately $35 million in bonuses” to be released “in the very near future.”
The bonuses were calculated based on how long the employee has worked for the organization.
Cuban has been known to make some heartwarming gestures in the past. Given that the 65-year-old is worth a reported $6.2 billion, the efforts to reward employees probably doesn’t hurt his bank account all that much.
Cuban bought the Mavs from Ross Perot Jr. in 2000 for an estimated $285 million. The investment has clearly paid off for the Pittsburgh native.
