Stephen Curry's documentary tells story of NBA journey, rise to stardom

Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry has had quite the week. After winning the ACC celebrity golf tournament and receiving a special shoutout from Drake at a concert, his film documentary "Underrated" was released on Apple TV+.

The documentary tells the story of Curry, a once underrated high school player who rose to NBA stardom. He was recognized as a talented player but was doubted because of his size. That helped him earn the nickname "The Baby-Faced Assassin."

The film focuses on Curry's life before the NBA. Curry breaks down how the underrated mindset helped him focus on his goal of becoming an NBA player. He was unfazed by the criticism he received.

After high school, Curry attended Davidson College, where his career started to take off. Curry started drawing attention by leading Davidson to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

Curry was drafted eighth overall in the 2009 NBA Draft. Even before playing an NBA game, Curry was doubted for not being a "true point guard". Scouts doubted that his shooting and shot-creating ability would allow him to be successful in the NBA. Multiple guards were drafted over Curry.

Now, Curry is a two-time league MVP and a four-time NBA champ. He is considered one of the greatest players of all time and is unquestionably the greatest shooter in NBA history. Part of the reason for his success was his ability to take the "underrated" label and use it as motivation to become the best basketball player he could be.
