Thunder acquire No. 11 pick Ousmane Dieng in trade with Knicks

The Oklahoma City Thunder sent "multiple first-round picks" to the New York Knicks in a trade to acquire the No. 11 pick Ousmane Dieng, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Dieng, 19, is one part of a trio of players headed to Oklahoma City along with No. 2 overall pick Chet Holmgren and No. 12 pick Jalen Williams. The three players will join a Thunder roster that has Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, and Josh Giddey.

The Knicks made the selection of Dieng on Thursday night before trading the pick to Oklahoma City.

Dieng is a 6'10" native of France who spent last season playing for the New Zealand Breakers of the National Basketball League. In 23 games with the Breakers, Dieng averaged 8.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

The exact compensation in the trade hasn't yet been reported, but the Thunder have no shortage of future first-round selections. The team entered Thursday night with 14 first-round selections between the 2023 and 2027 NBA Drafts.
