Do the Warriors' draft plans hinge upon whether the T-Wolves take James Wiseman? The Commercial Appeal-USA TODAY

Warriors reportedly 'had talks about moving down' if Minnesota takes Wiseman with first pick

The Golden State Warriors are in a very unique position for the upcoming NBA draft. Typically, a team with the No. 2 pick is starting a rebuild or already in the middle of it, desperately hoping to grab the player who can get their franchise back on track. But the Warriors are just a year removed from their fifth-straight Finals appearance and still have one of the most talented rosters in the league, including the greatest shooter in NBA history.

So what will the Warriors do with the second pick in the draft? They could add a young player to their already loaded team, but according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Golden State is seriously considering trading the pick in the hopes of acquiring some veteran talent, as they have "definitely had talks about moving down."

Windhorst believes that the Warriors have their eyes set on James Wiseman in the draft and if he is taken by Minnesota with the first pick, the team may explore trading down rather than drafting LaMelo Ball or any other prospects. While this is not widely seen as the deepest or most talented drafts in recent memory, the Warriors should still be able to get some nice offers in exchange for the second-pick.

The question is if they will find the right offer for giving it up. After all, the Warriors still believe they can compete for a title and if the team believes the players offered to them won't help them get there, they could end up deciding in holding onto their pick and adding a solid young player to their lineup.
