An anonymous Denver Nuggets player says Russell Westbrook is “so immature.”
After the Nuggets lost Game 2 against the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2025 playoffs, Westbrook and Aaron Gordon got into a heated discussion, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
“Minutes after the Nuggets lost Game 2 of their first-round series against the Clippers, David Adelman had a problem,” Shelburne wrote. “While he’d been at the postgame lectern, there’d been a heated discussion between Westbrook and Gordon in the locker room, multiple sources told ESPN. Gordon had challenged Westbrook about his attitude.
“Outside the locker room, one player relayed why Gordon might’ve done so. ‘He’s so immature,’ he said of Westbrook.”
A future Hall of Famer, Westbrook is in his first season with the Nuggets. He has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Nuggets.
Denver is tied with OKC at 2-2 in the Western Conference Semifinals. Westbrook, 36, is averaging 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks in the 2025 playoffs against the Clippers and Thunder.
“I can’t see another team doing it,” one team source said of the Nuggets’ signing Westbrook, after unceremonious endings with his previous four teams, “but I never thought we would do it.”
