The empty arenas and silent streets of the NBA bubble created a unique environment. The NBA made something that had never been done before: a championship game played in a bubble. The Lakers came out on top. Anthony Davis got his ring. But Anthony Davis still can’t fully celebrate it.
During a conversation with Draymond Green, Davis said, “Like, man, did I really win a championship? And you hear the noise, which to me is probably the hardest championship to ever accomplish.”
He further added, “But for me, I also feel like—I know I’m a champion, but I don’t really… I want the real experience, right? So, which is why it’s like I want to compete so bad. I want to compete for a championship so bad because I want to go on the road.”

The 2020 Bubble Championship at Walt Disney World was the first of its kind in NBA history. Because of COVID-19 isolation, the Lakers had to stay in one place for months.
They won their 17th franchise title by beating the Miami Heat 4–2. The bubble’s isolation and lack of fans made the championship feel less climactic.
Anthony Davis was the best player in the playoffs, averaging 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 57.1% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range.
With that said, he wants to witness that once again, but this time with the Washington Wizards
A trade sending Anthony Davis to the Wizards surprised many in the league.
It didn’t seem like the Wizards would be a good place for players who wanted to win a championship.
“From the outside looking in, Dray, people don’t understand; I didn’t understand. I was one of these guys, too. I was like, damn, Washington, like what?”
Initially, Davis appeared hesitant about the trade. However, the more time he spent with the team, he realized that they’re different,” said Davis.
He further added, “When you get here, you look at the facility, you look at the little details of it, the team, it’s not bad. I like the young guys. These m***s can play.”
The team hasn’t won a championship since 1978, and in the last five years, they’ve only won 31.7% of their games (136-293). It didn’t seem like the Wizards would be a good place for players who wanted to win a championship.
