Anthony Davis day-to-day with groin strain, status for Game 5 unclear

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis exited Sunday's 100-92 Game 4 loss to the Phoenix Suns before halftime with a left groin strain.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the eight-time All-Star is considered day-to-day. His availability for Tuesday's Game 5 is unclear.

Davis suffered the injury on a missed layup in the second quarter and collapsed on the floor in pain before exiting the court.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said after the game that Davis was undergoing further evaluation, and he would have a better update on Monday.

The series is tied 2-2 and the Lakers will need Davis if they have hopes of moving on. The 28-year-old had just 13 points in Game 1, but he recorded back-to-back 34-point performances in Games 2 and 3 to help lift L.A. to back-to-back wins.

The Lakers went 11-7 during the regular season when LeBron James played and Davis did not. Among those games, L.A. was just 1-6 against teams that went on to make the playoffs.

Game 5 between the Suns and Lakers is set for Tuesday night.
