As Anthony Edwards traverses his way through the 2025 NBA playoffs, his ascent to the top of the basketball world continues to pick up pace. Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves successfully dispensed of the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
The Timberwolves won Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals 121-110, eliminating the Curry-less Warriors. While Curry injured his hamstring during Game 1, and would not return to the series, Edwards and the Timberwolves have now eliminated two surefire Hall-of-Famers in LeBron James and Curry in back-to-back series'.
Edwards and his Timberwolves will now await the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder lead that series 3-2.
Edwards dropped 22 points to go along with 12 assists, seven rebounds, three blocks, one steal, and five made 3-pointers in 41 minutes in Game 5.
As per @statmuse, Edwards made history with his stat-line, becoming the first player in Timberwolves franchise history to record at least 10 assists while making at least five 3-pointers in a playoff game.

While the Timberwolves history isn't as rich and storied as the original NBA franchises, Hall-of-Fame players have donned their uniform such as Kevin Garnett, and they've seen the likes of Karl Anthony-Towns and Kevin Love thrive elsewhere after being cornerstones of their franchise.
Edwards, at just 23 years of age, continues to show the world his ceiling is still unknown in his fifth season. He, along with Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, and Naz Reid have the Timberwolves in their second consecutive Western Conference finals (third in franchise history).
Edwards will now get some well deserved rest until their next dance partner is confirmed. Game 6 of Thunder vs. Nuggets tips off on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN. Game 1 of the Western Conference finals is expected to take place on May 20.
